Recipe - Steam Minced Pork With Salted Egg

Mince or ground pork is a versatile ingredient. The mince pork can be cooked on its own as in this dish. The mince pork can also be used as a filling in making won-tons which is a favourite in many countries. Other ways of using this mince pork include shaping them into meatballs, burgers, making pies out of them and many others.

In this recipe, I use salted duck egg (cooked) and fresh shitake mushroom to flavour the mince pork.

Ingredients:
cooked salted duck eggs
250 gm mince pork
2 shitake mushrooms (diced)
1 large onion (diced)
1 cooked salted egg.
1 fresh egg.
1 tsp of oyster sauce
2 tsp of cornflour
1tsp of sesame oil
a dash of pepper
spring onion for garnishing.
crispy shallots for garnishing

Method:
Cut the salted egg in half, leave half a yoke for decorating the top of dish as in picture.
Put the pork, salted egg, fresh egg, onion and mushroom in a shallow bowl and mix well.
Add the oyster sauce, cornflour and sesame oil and mix well.
Top the centre with half yoke of the salted egg (for presentation).
Steam in a steamer or wok in medium low heat for about 15 minutes.
Garnish with spring onion and crispy shallots for extra flavour.

Enjoy
