Plum And Health benefits

Plums are an excellent source of Vitamins A, B2, and C. Plums also contain a variety of antioxidants and phytonutrients, such as lutein, that have been proved to be beneficial to the body in a number of ways

Fresh plums are very good source of vitamin A and beta carotene. Vitamin A is essential for vision. It is also required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin. Consumption of  fruits rich in vitamin A helps to protect from lung and oral cavity cancers.

Plums have high content of Vitamin C, which means it helps protect against health conditions like asthma, colon cancer, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. 

Finally, plums are quite rich in both potassium and iron. Potassium is needed by the body for red blood cell formation, and iron is used by the body to contract its muscles, like the heart, as needed
