Joke - Oh Heavens

When everybody on earth was dead and waiting to enter Heaven, God appeared and said,"I want the married men to make two lines - one line for the men who were true heads of their household, and the other line for the men who were dominated by their women.   I want all the women to report to St. Peter."

Soon, the women were gone, and there were two lines of men.

The line of the men who were dominated by their wives was 100 miles long and in the line for men who truly were heads of their household there was only one man.

God said to the long line, "You men should be ashamed of yourselves; I created you to be the head of your household!   You have been dis-obedient and have not fulfilled your purpose! Of all of you, only one obeyed.  Learn from him."

God turned to the one man, "How did you manage to be the only one in this line?"

The man replied,

"My wife told me to stand here."

Your Time Is Not Up Yet!

A middle-aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.
While on the operating table, she had a near death experience.

Seeing God, she asked "Is my time up?"

God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months, and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a facelift, liposuction, and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair color. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.

After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.

Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 40 years? Why didn't you pull me from out of the path
of the ambulance?"

God replied, "I didn't recognize you!"

Garden of Eden
Adam was walking around the Garden of Eden feeling very lonely, so God asked Adam, "What is wrong with you?"

Adam said, "I don't have anyone to talk to."

God said, "I will give you a companion and it will be a woman." He said, "This person will cook for you and wash your clothes, she will
always agree with every decision you make, she will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them.

"She will not nag," God continued, "and will always be the first to admit she was wrong. When you've had a disagreement, she will never have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever needed."

Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"

God said, "An arm and a leg!"

Adam said, "What can I get for just a rib?"

Joke - A Leg Up

Alexander de Seversky, a World War I war hero and influential Russian-American aviator and engineer, was once visiting a fellow flyer in the hospital. The young man had just lost his leg.

De Seversky, who had had an artificial leg for some time, tried to cheer him up. “The loss of a leg is not so great a calamity,” he said. “If you get hit on a wooden leg, it doesn’t hurt a bit! Try it!”

The patient raised his walking stick and brought it down hard on de Seversky’s leg. De Seversky didn't flinch.

“You see,” he said cheerfully, “if you hit an ordinary man like that, he’d be in bed for days! Good luck, now!”

With that he left his friend and limped into the corridor, where he collapsed in excruciating pain. The young man had struck de Seversky on his good leg.

Recipe - Sea Cucumber Stir Fry With Ginger And Spring Onions

Sea cucumbers are marine animals with a round elongated body and and a mouth at one end and  lots of tentacles for feeding. Shaped like a cucumber, sea cucumbers have a leathery skin and a distinctly phallic appearance.

Sea cucumbers are known for their anti-ageing properties. Sea cucumbers are considered a general health tonic and benefit people with chronic joint pains, sprains, ligaments stress and arthritis.

Like tofu, sea cucumber is flavorless, but has the ability to soak up the flavors of foods and seasonings it is cooked with. It is used in soups, stir-fries, and certain braised dishes.

In this recipe, the sea cucumber is given a quick stir fry with ginger, spring onion and dried shrimps.

150 grams sea cucumber thinly sliced,
1 tbs of dried shrimps
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Shredded ginger slices, shredded from abt 8 slices
sea cucumber
Spring onions 2 stalks, cut into long strips
Coriander leaves, 1 stalk, cut into long strips
1 tsp chilli paste
1 red chilli , sliced
1 tps light sauce
1 tbs cooking oil

Heat oil in a wok or pan on medium
Fry dried prawns till crispy & fragrant, then dish out and set aside
In the remaining oil, fry garlic, and ginger and white portion of spring onion till fragrant
Add chilli paste and fresh chilli slices, mix well
On high heat add sea cucumber slices,  stir quickly and add some water
( if fresh prawns are used, add them in together with the sea cucumber )
Season with a teaspoon of light sauce.
Add spring onion and coriander leaves, fried dried prawns & turn off heat immediately

Delicious , served with warm steamed rice

Juice To ease Arthritis Pain

Chef Gordon Ramsay In Vietnam

Gordon's gastronomic tour of South East Asia brings him to Vietnam.

In Vietnam the culinary rule seems to be that if it moves, eat it. Gordon samples a host of surreal, challenging and delicious foods, including still-beating snake heart, freshly slaughtered barbecue duck, and basket-caught squid.

In Ho Chi Minh City Gordon visits the city's finest snake restaurant.

In Hanoi he grapples with the ferocious Madam Duck and begs her to reveal her secret duck recipe. He also rises to the challenge of broth maker Zi Hai to sell over 80 broths in a tiny boat at a floating market in the Mekong Delta.

Gordon travels hundreds of miles to the tropical hot spot Mai Chau to learn how to prepare rice cakes.

Gordon's final challenge is to host a dinner of pork for several of Vietnam's most discerning and critical food connoisseurs.

Joke - Why Sharks Circle You Before Attacking

Two great white sharks swimming in the ocean spied survivors of a sunken ship.

"Follow me son" the father shark said to the son shark and they swam to the Mass of people.

"First we swim around them a few times with just the tip of our fins showing."
And they did.
"Well done, son! Now we swim around them a few times with all of our Fins showing."

And they did.
"Now we eat everybody." And they did.
When they were both gorged, the son asked, "Dad, why didn't we just
Eat them all at first? Why did we swim around and around them?"

His wise father replied, "Because they taste better without the shit inside!"

No need to thank me, I just try to learn something new every day.

Recipe - Youtiao Stuffed With Fish Paste

Youtiao or crispy crullers are a popular snack in Singapore. It is a key ingredient in Rojak  but it is nice on its own.

The youtiao is very often served together with a bowl of congee (or chok). The crispy youtiao can also be combined with fillings of squid paste or fish paste to make it a wholesome meal and to add variety to your meals.

In this recipe, I make a fish paste from the sutchi fish fillet which is ideal as it is boneless. To make the fish paste, I blend the sutchi fillet with sesame oil, salt and mint leaves for flavour. I happen to have mint leaves, if not, spring onions will do.

For the youtiao, I bought 3 pairs of ready to eat youtiao, split them out and cut into 4 pieces each. For each piece, I use a pair of scissors to cut a slit along the length of the youtiao for  the fish paste filling.

Ingredients (serve 5)

3 pairs of youtiao, cut and slit in the middle.

Fish paste

250 gms sutchi fillet blended
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbs of chopped mint leaves

For the youtiao, separate the youtiao pairs. Cut into 4 sections each and snip open the youtiao lengthwise.

For the fish paste, mix the paste well.

Stuff the fish paste into the cavity of the youtiao and pat it neatly.

At this stage, the youtiao can be pan fried or bake in the oven.

I bake them in the oven, using top heat at 150 deg C for 10 minutes, with fish paste facing up.

Serve warm and enjoy the crunchy youtiao with fish paste. If you like, serve with tartar sauce or mayonnaise.
