Recipe - Homemade Mango Ice Cream (Without Ice Cream Maker)
I always thought that making ice cream was complicated stuff till I saw the videos and recipes on making ice cream without the ice cream maker.
So I gave it a try. It is easy. It is fun. What's more, you can make your own flavours and toppings.
The mango ice cream I made turn out very nice. It is smooth and creamy.
The essential ingredients are the sweetened condensed milk, the heavy cream or thickened cream for whipping and the fruits of your choice.
This recipe makes about 1 litre of ice cream. You will need a container for freezing the ice cream.
Ingredients
2 ripe mangoes (about 600 grams)
1 tin of condensed milk (390 grams)
1 bottle of thickened cream (300 ml)
Method
Peel and cut the mango into bits.
Puree or blend the mango bits with the condensed milk.
In a large mixing bowl, whip the thickened to stiff peaks.
Fold in the mango and condensed milk mix.
Mix well slowly and that's it.
Pour into a container and freeze overnight.
Enjoy

A nice blog that gives some ideas for making other varieties of ice cream (link).
